In July Omnis Investments, appointed a new fund manager to the Omnis Income & Growth Fund to replace Woodford Investment Management. Omnis made this change to help enhance the performance of all the assets held within the Fund.

Only a small part of your investment portfolio is held in the Income & Growth Fund, but with so much news on Woodford Investment Management in the media, I wanted to make sure you are fully informed about the transition to Jupiter Asset Management, and the positive impact on performance so far. 

Omnis selected the new fund manager, Ben Whitmore of Jupiter Asset Management, because of his impressive investment strategy, style and track record. Although three months is too short a timeframe to assess a long-term investment, under Ben’s stewardship the Fund has started to show positive signs of outperformance.

The Jupiter and Omnis teams have identified a small number of investments held by the former manager that are not best positioned to achieve the desired long-term outcome for their investors. The manager will remove these investments at a time that offers the best value. Omnis are extremely positive about the new direction Ben and his team are taking with the Fund and with the performance they have delivered so far.  

During times of uncertainty or short-term underperformance, it is important to remember that you are investing for the long term. Investments do go up and down.
